Adjust and verify a FreeDOPE wind call

Set the current speed. Move the speed control to the range call you intend to model, not merely the last weather observation. Set clock direction. Choose the incoming wind direction on the clock. FreeDOPE applies it relative to each target azimuth. Read the live preview. Compare the resulting right or left hold across every target distance. Larger changes at distance are a useful check for an accidental speed or direction entry. Return to the HUD. Confirm the active target shows the expected hold and that the solution context reports the intended wind call. Update from range evidence. Treat the modeled value as a prepared call. Compare it with current indicators and trustworthy observations, then revise the speed or direction deliberately when conditions change.

Environment and wind are separate decisions. Atmospheric observations describe air conditions. The range wind call is the speed and direction you choose to apply to the shot solution.
