Manage profile identity and revisions

Create a distinct identity when rifle, barrel, ammunition lot, suppressor state, zero, or measured velocity changes materially. Use names another person—or you six months later—can distinguish without opening every record. Preserve the last verified profile before testing a new coefficient, velocity, offset, or environmental assumption. Record why a revision exists and the observation that justified it. Retire confusing experiments from active use without erasing the evidence needed to understand old cards or exports.

Identity first. A clean library is safer than one profile repeatedly edited for unrelated configurations. Treat a known-good profile as a reference, not a scratchpad.

Expected result. The active profile can be traced to one reproducible rifle-and-ammunition configuration and one understandable revision path.
