Understand disciplines, series, seasons, and matches

A discipline describes a broad competitive format and the skills, equipment, and safety model associated with it. A governing organization or series publishes a specific ruleset, schedule, eligibility model, divisions, and championship path. A season bounds a period of results or standings under a named series policy. A match is one scheduled event hosted by an organizer or club under identified rules and local procedures. A division or category groups competitors under equipment or eligibility rules; similar names do not guarantee equivalent rules across series.
