Use angular units you understand and can keep consistent across reticle, turrets, data, coaching, and stage planning.
Confirm parallax adjustment reaches the closest realistic target distance and remains usable across the expected range.
Favor a reticle that supports precise holds without hiding small targets or demanding unnecessary mental conversion.
Evaluate field of view and eyebox from unstable positions, not only from a comfortable bench.
Require repeatable tracking, a dependable return to zero, readable controls, and enough adjustment for the intended trajectory.
Include mount height, ring clearance, cheek support, rifle balance, weight limits, and bolt or loading clearance in the system decision.
Judge image quality in the light and background conditions where matches occur; maximum magnification alone says little about usability.
