  • A ballistic coefficient compares projectile drag with a named reference model. A number without its G1, G7, or other model is incomplete.
  • A higher published number does not automatically mean a better projectile for a particular rifle, distance, velocity range, or competition.
  • Different manufacturers and sources may use different test methods, velocity bands, averaging, rounding, or promotional choices.
  • A single constant BC approximates behavior across a velocity range; some sources provide stepped values or measured drag data for greater fidelity.
  • The best input is traceable to the exact projectile and model, plausible for the velocity regime, and validated with trustworthy observations.
