FreeDOPE calculates a trajectory from the profile, atmosphere, wind call, geometry, and target data supplied to it. It can preserve the source and revision of those inputs; it cannot independently inspect the rifle, measure the range, read the wind along the full flight path, or confirm where a shot actually landed.

  • FreeDOPE can consistently solve the model represented by the accepted workspace.
  • It cannot know that the selected rifle, ammunition lot, optic units, zero, or target distance matches reality.
  • It cannot turn an airport observation into a guaranteed range atmosphere or a single wind speed into the wind along the entire path.
  • It cannot determine that an impact call, chronograph string, or range measurement is trustworthy.
  • Only deliberate comparison with repeatable observations can verify that a profile is useful for its intended range.

Expected result

You can explain which parts of a call came from measured evidence, which came from modeling, and which still require confirmation.
