Privacy Policy
How The Shooters Hub collects, uses, and protects information across our apps, APIs, and community tools.
At a glance
Fortney Manufacturing LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company, operates The Shooters Hub. This notice covers Shooters Hub websites, mobile applications, APIs, embeds, community tools, marketplace features, FreeDOPE, and related services.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Optional location, identity-verification, youth, payment, and artificial-intelligence features receive the additional treatment described below.
This is the controlling privacy notice for the Services. Short notices shown where information is collected supplement this notice.
1. Who We Are and How to Contact Us
Fortney Manufacturing LLC operates The Shooters Hub and determines how personal information is handled for the Services, except where a club, match director, series, payment provider, identity-verification provider, or linked service independently controls its own records.
Privacy requests can be submitted through /contact. Signed-in users may also start a staff thread from Messages. Choose “Privacy or account data,” identify the account involved, and do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, or firearm serial numbers in an ordinary message.
2. Categories of Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, we collect: • identifiers and account data, including name, handle, email, authentication identifiers, profile image, and account status; • competition data, including disciplines, divisions, classes, registrations, attendance, scores, rankings, affiliations, roles, and imported source identifiers; • entity and business data for clubs, matches, series, seasons, brands, sponsors, vendors, and staff; • community and communications data, including posts, replies, reactions, reports, private messages, support threads, notification preferences, and uploaded media; • youth-management data, including a month-only birth value, calculated age band, guardian relationship, consent version and timestamps, optional youth sign-in email, and feature permissions; • marketplace data, including listings, prices, condition, meetup or shipping preferences, approximate location, seller-verification status, moderation evidence, and transaction-related messages; • location data you provide or permit, including approximate device location, map position, travel radius, and an optional private home or reference location; • FreeDOPE, ballistics, course-of-fire, equipment, environment, and document-upload data; • payment and commercial records, including products purchased, transaction status, processor references, refunds, chargebacks, credit balances, and subscription status; • technical and usage data, including IP address, device and browser information, app version, cookies, local or offline storage, crash and diagnostic information, security events, page or feature activity, and API usage; and • information you provide when requesting support, exercising a right, appealing moderation, or communicating with us.
3. Sources of Information
We receive information directly from you; from a parent or guardian managing a youth profile; from clubs, match directors, series, scoring systems, registration providers, and public competition sources; from other users who communicate or transact with you; from authentication, payment, identity, map, analytics, notification, media, and infrastructure providers; from authorized APIs and integrations; and automatically from devices and use of the Services.
If you submit information about another person, you represent that you are authorized to do so and will provide any notice or obtain any permission required by law.
4. Why We Use Information
We use information to authenticate users; provide profiles, discovery, scoring, leaderboards, registration, messaging, community, marketplace, FreeDOPE, media, API, and support features; personalize relevant matches, clubs, content, and alerts; calculate distance and travel-related results; process purchases and maintain balances; verify sellers and reduce fraud; moderate content and investigate reports; secure, debug, measure, and improve the Services; meet legal, accounting, safety, and enforcement obligations; and communicate about service changes.
Where consent is legally required, we rely on consent. We may also process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate operational and security interests, and comply with law.
5. Public Information, Competition Records, and APIs
Profiles, handles, roles, club and match pages, schedules, public posts, listings, scores, results, rankings, sponsor relationships, and other information deliberately marked public may be visible without an account and may be delivered through search, embeds, feeds, exports, or APIs.
Competition records may remain part of the historical record even after an account closes. We may correct, de-identify, or disassociate a record instead of deleting an official result when deletion would make the record inaccurate or conflict with an organizer’s lawful records. Private messages, precise private locations, authentication details, payment credentials, and private staff records are not made public through our public APIs.
6. Location Information
Location access is optional. If you permit device or browser location, we use coordinates to find nearby matches, clubs, listings, weather, or travel results. You may instead enter a general area or optional private reference address.
We do not publish a private home or reference address merely because it is used for discovery. Listing meetup locations, club addresses, and event locations may be public because you or an entity administrator chose to publish them. Revoke device permission in system settings and edit or remove stored reference locations in your profile or through a privacy request.
8. Authentication and Connected Accounts
When you sign in with email, Google, Apple, or another supported provider, that provider supplies an account identifier and the profile information you approve. The provider independently handles your credentials under its policy. Shooters Hub normally does not receive your Google or Apple password.
Disconnecting a provider does not automatically delete a Shooters Hub account or records already associated with it.
9. Messages, Notifications, and Communications
We process messages and staff threads to deliver them, prevent abuse, maintain safety, and respond to requests. Message recipients can copy or retain information they receive.
We may use email, in-app notices, device push tokens, and system notifications for security, account, match, registration, marketplace, moderation, or service events. Marketing messages require any consent mandated by law and include an available opt-out. Transactional and security notices may continue while an account remains active.
If you enable translation for private messages, message text may be sent to our configured translation provider to produce the requested language view. This setting is off by default and cannot be enabled for managed-youth conversations. Public-content translation may occur automatically when you select that preference. The original content remains the source record.
10. Payments, Subscriptions, and Identity Verification
Payment processors handle full card details. We generally receive processor identifiers, product, amount, status, limited billing details, and records needed for credits, reconciliation, refunds, disputes, tax, fraud prevention, and support.
When seller or account identity verification is offered, a specialized provider may collect government identification, document images, selfies, and related verification data directly. We generally receive the verification result, provider reference, and risk signals rather than full identification documents. The provider’s notice governs information it independently collects.
Clubs and match directors may use separate payment or registration providers. Their handling of information is governed by their own notices.
11. Artificial Intelligence Features
If you choose an AI-assisted feature, prompts, instructions, selected account or entity context, and files you attach may be sent to an AI service provider to generate the requested output. Do not submit secrets, protected health information, payment-card data, government identification, private information about another person, or content you lack authority to process.
AI output and supporting artifacts may be stored with your workspace, usage records, or credit history. Providers may temporarily retain request data for abuse prevention or service operation under our agreement with them. We do not authorize providers to train general-purpose models on private Shooters Hub content unless we first provide a separate notice and obtain any required consent.
We may also use automated systems to detect language, produce labeled translations, identify profanity or sexual language, and classify potentially sensitive or explicit media. These systems can be wrong. They affect presentation, warnings, moderation queues, and youth safeguards; they do not replace the original content. Adult users may adjust eligible display preferences and reveal eligible content. Managed-youth safeguards are locked more strictly. We do not make a decision with legal or similarly significant effect solely from a translation or content-safety classifier.
12. Youth and Guardian-Managed Profiles
Children under 13 may not create or independently use an account. Users aged 13 through 17 may use a guardian-managed profile only with a parent or legal guardian’s authorization and supervision. A guardian may create or manage competition records for a younger participant, but the participant may not independently access community, messaging, marketplace, payment, or AI features unless the law and product controls expressly allow it.
We collect birth month rather than a full birth date to calculate an age band conservatively. We record the guardian account, the consent notice version and time, permissions, and whether a separate youth login has been attached. A youth profile normally appears as a persona under the guardian’s login. A guardian may invite a youth aged 13 through 17 to attach a separate email and login; accepting that invitation does not remove guardian management or unlock adult-only features.
Guardians are responsible for the accuracy of youth information, selecting visibility, reviewing communications and permissions, and telling us if their authority or consent ends. We limit youth features and do not publish birth month, age band, private contact information, consent records, or precise private location. Sensitive text is blurred, explicit media is hidden, reveal controls are unavailable, and private-message translation is disabled for managed-youth personas. Public competition sources may identify a youth participant by name, class, score, or result.
A guardian may request access, correction, disassociation, consent withdrawal, or deletion through /contact. Withdrawing consent before the age of majority restricts the youth profile while we complete the requested deletion or legally required record treatment; it does not silently convert the profile into an independent adult account. A managed-youth profile may become independent only after our conservative age-of-majority check passes. We retain consent and transition records as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance and protect users.
If we learn that a child under 13 provided personal information directly without a compliant guardian process, we will restrict the account and delete or otherwise remediate the information as required. Contact us if you believe this occurred.
13. When We Disclose Information
We disclose information: • to users and the public when you publish it or a public competition record requires it; • to clubs, directors, series, staff, guardians, or entity administrators according to roles and the activity involved; • to cloud hosting, authentication, storage, media, search, realtime, analytics, email, push, map, AI, payment, identity-verification, fraud, and support providers acting for us; • to integrations you authorize and through governed public or private APIs; • during a financing, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice; and • when reasonably necessary to comply with law, preserve evidence, protect safety or rights, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements.
Service providers receive only the access reasonably needed for their function and are expected to protect the information under contract or applicable law.
14. No Sale or Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
Displaying a sponsor selected for a match, club, series, or site placement is not based on a sale of your personal information. If our practices change, we will update this notice and provide any required opt-out before the change applies.
15. Sensitive Information
Precise geolocation, account credentials, private communications, government-identification verification, youth data, and some payment or safety information may be considered sensitive. We use and disclose sensitive information only for requested features, authentication, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and other purposes permitted without a separate opt-out. We do not use sensitive information to infer unrelated personal characteristics.
16. Retention
We retain information for the shortest period reasonably necessary for the purpose described here, considering account status, synchronization and backup cycles, dispute and moderation needs, competition-record integrity, fraud prevention, contractual requirements, and legal obligations.
Account and private workspace data generally remain while an account is active. Deletion begins when a verified request is completed, but encrypted backups and caches roll off on their normal schedules. Financial and transaction records may be retained for accounting, tax, fraud, and dispute periods. Security, moderation, and consent records may remain long enough to protect users and demonstrate compliance. Public competition records and content retained by recipients or independent organizers may outlast an account.
17. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, provider security features, logging, review, and recovery procedures. No service is completely secure.
Use a unique password, protect connected accounts, review active sessions, and report suspected compromise promptly. Do not send secrets through community posts, listings, or ordinary support messages.
18. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You may update many profile, visibility, location, communication, and notification settings in the product. Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, withdrawal of consent, or an explanation of our processing.
Submit a request through /contact or an authenticated staff thread. State the right requested and the account email or handle. We will verify identity proportionately and may request additional non-sensitive proof. We respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any extension or denial. We do not discriminate for exercising a privacy right, though deleting required data may make a feature unavailable.
20. California and Other U.S. State Rights
Where an applicable state privacy law covers Fortney Manufacturing LLC and the request, residents may have rights to know or confirm processing, access categories or specific pieces of information, correct inaccuracies, delete information, obtain a portable copy, opt out of sale or targeted advertising, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and appeal a decision.
The categories collected and disclosed for business purposes are described in Sections 2 and 13. We have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising during the preceding 12 months. Submit requests using Section 18. We may retain information under a statutory exception, including security, legal compliance, transaction completion, and public-interest record integrity.
21. International Users
The Services are operated from the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries where providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.
Where European, United Kingdom, or similar law applies, our legal bases may include contract, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligation. Applicable users may complain to their local supervisory authority. We use legally recognized transfer safeguards when required.
22. Account Deletion
Account deletion can be requested from account settings when available, through /contact, or through an authenticated staff thread. The request applies to the Shooters Hub account and associated private data, not accounts held independently by a club, payment provider, identity provider, or linked service.
Before completing deletion, we may require authentication, resolve unpaid balances or active disputes, preserve evidence, and explain records that must remain. We will delete, de-identify, or disassociate eligible information. Public posts already copied by others, messages in recipients’ inboxes, and independent competition records may remain, but we will honor applicable legal rights and product controls.
23. Security Incidents
We investigate suspected incidents and notify affected people and authorities when required by applicable law. Notices may be delivered by email, in-app message, prominent service notice, or another legally permitted method.
24. Changes to This Notice
We may update this notice as products, providers, or law change. The page shows the effective date. Material changes will receive reasonable advance notice when practicable, and we will request new consent when law requires it. Archived versions may be requested through /contact.
25. Contact
For privacy questions, rights requests, youth-data concerns, or complaints, use /contact or start an authenticated staff thread in Messages. Address the request to “Privacy — Fortney Manufacturing LLC” and include a safe way to respond.
