Before you start

  • A verified rimfire profile
  • The current official matchbook
  1. Confirm matchbook revision and units

Use the current organizer-provided course of fire and identify whether its distances are yards or meters before entering any target.

  2. Review one stage at a time

Preserve stage name, target order, repeated engagements, and any target note that helps prevent a sequence error.

  3. Solve with the intended rimfire profile

Confirm rifle, ammunition lot, zero, atmosphere, angular unit, and accepted profile revision before trusting the rows.

  4. Check every short-range value

Rimfire stages can include targets around or across the zero distance. Review signs, offsets, and neighboring rows instead of assuming elevation always increases.

  5. Create a legible field copy

Keep stage identity, target order, distance, elevation, wind reference, and units readable under match conditions.
